Cooking with Mommy!

I like to spend time on the weekend cooking and working in the kitchen.  I do this both to prepare food for my family for the week, and because I enjoy it.  When Ben was super little, he enjoyed sitting in his bouncer or high chair and watching.  Now he likes to be a little more involved.  Of course he is still only 11 months old and easily distracted, so we haven’t moved into real helping yet.  Currently he gets to ‘cook’ on his own while I cook too.  Luckily for me, he loves it!

Often this cooking involves a pot and a wooden spoon.  I know, it doesn’t sound like much.  But honestly he enjoys playing with both.  This weekend I decided to up things a bit.  Oh yes, I added water.  Wow, did that take the game to the next level.  I was able to get a ton of chopping, cooking, and cleaning done while my little helper worked on his own creation.  Of course at the end of the game he was soaking wet, but he was happy.  That is the most important thing.

Here is my little sous chef in action.  (Yes, he is wearing his “Home is where the pants aren’t” onesie.  No, he is not wearing pants.  Pants do not go with that onesie. 😉 )

Getting everything organized.
Time to measure!
Stir, stir, stir
Dagger came to help.

Yummy!
