STEM Activities for Kids, Twins +1, and Practical Parenting

March 13, 2014 By Kimberly Cartwright Leave a Comment

Thankful Thursday: Pat

This week is an easy one.  I am thankful for my husband, Pat.  Our anniversary is tomorrow, so today is a wonderful day to think of all the ways I am thankful for him.  Pat is smart, funny, kind, supportive, strong, and warm.  These are just a few words that describe him.   I am thankful that I get to wake up next to him every morning.   He has to spend his days away from Ben, and I know that is hard.  But he does it and greets us back at home with a smile.  I love watching him play with Ben.  He is gentle and encouraging with him.  He is always looking for ways to make Ben laugh.  Seeing the two of them together warms my heart.

Who wouldn’t love a guy playing with his baby?  Beyond being Ben’s Dad, Pat is my friend.  We can do nothing at all and have a ton of fun.  I love just hanging out and being together.  I love Pat’s sense of adventure and willingness to try new things.   I love that he can reach high shelves and lift heavy things for me.  I love that he lifts not so heavy things for me so I can be lazy.  I love that he saves the last of the ice cream for me.  I love that he likes to get out and experience new things.  And I love that we are sharing this new adventure of parenting together.  Every day I am happy I married him.

Thanks for being you, Pat.  I am thankful to have you in my life.
–Kim
