How to help your child conquer nightmares.
Growing up I had very, very vivid and realistic nightmares. Even now, decades later, I can recall them in detail and still to this day have an occasional nightmare that will leave me upset the entire next day.
As someone who has battled nightmares, I have a LOT of grace and empathy for my children when they experience similar scary dreams. I understand that nightmares sound silly to US. When you tell someone about your dream, they don’t really care. They know it’s not real. They aren’t the ones who “lived it” or “experienced it.”
It’s easy to brush off our children’s nightmares but we have to remember that they are VERY real to them and by helping them learn methods to conquer their bad dreams everyone can get better sleep!
